WINE SPECTATOR Jan. 31 - Feb. 28 2007
Burgundy: 2004 Côte de Beaune/Meursault
Meursault Genevières: “Rich, honeyed and very concentrated. The flavors border on apricot, with citronella, hazelnut, mineral and spice from new oak adding grace notes. Very creamy and long, with energy and a vibrant structure. Best from 2008 through 2005.” 94 Points
Meursault Perrières: ”Racy, lean and rippling, with new oak dominating the lemon and mineral flavors for now. Very firm and intense, but all the elements are there. Refined finish. Give this time. Best from 2008 through 2015.” 93 Points » read more... |

WINE SPECTATOR Jan. 24, 2007
The husband-and-wife team of Mounir Saouma and Rotem Brakin are the driving force behind this boutique négociant based in Beaune. They are relative newcomers to Burgundy, releasing their first wines from the 1999 vintage. However, the two have not lost any time in creating red and white Burgundies with rich flavors that showcase a range of premier cru and grand cru sites from both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. They buy finished wine and mature it in barrel before bottling. » read more... |

THICK OR THIN? The 2003 and 2004 vintages present a stark choice for lovers of white Burgundy By Bruce Sanderson
Fans of white Burgundy face an intereseting dilemma, if my recent tastings accurately reflect what's now offer in retail shops and restaurants. Roughly half the wines in current release are from the hot 2003 vintage; the rest come from the cooler growing season of 2004. There couldn't be more contrast between these two years and the wines they produced. » read more... |
